Horton Plains National Park is a national park in the highlands of Sri Lanka. Horton Plains is a beautiful, silent, strange world with some excellent hikes in the shadows of Sri Lanka’s second- and third-highest mountains, Kirigalpotta (2395m) and Totapola (2357m). This area is surrounded with natural vegetation.
Sambar is the most common animal in the plains but wild boars and leopards too can be found in this area. Once you reach Horton plains you can visit the WORLD’S END which is a 4000 feet straight vertical drop. This is of course a 4 kilometer walk from the car park on a beautiful path.
